Glory & Grandeur -The sound of many voices and grand organ combining to fill St Peter Mancroft’s unique and beautiful spaces

The programme has been chosen to showcase the renowned Mancroft Collins organ, which will be given full rein in Vierne’s grand  Messe Solennelle, a work seldom performed, as here, with two organs, and also the glorious sound of 70 voices combining in some of Mendelssohn’s spine-tingling motets and double choruses. Organist Tim Patient will exploit all the ‘voices’ of this magnificent Collins organ in Buxtehude’s tour de force Toccata in F and our soloist is international prize-winning soprano, Katalin Prentice, who will perform Mozart’s exquisite Exsultate Jubilate and soar above the choir in Mascagni’s Easter Hymn from ‘Cavalleria Rusticana’ to close of the programme . The concert will be conducted by Pakefield Singers Director of Music, the charismatic and highly experienced vocal specialist and choir trainer Vetta Wise.
